about Mindy

Mindy has always had an inclination towards math, drafting, fine arts, and athletics.  Starting in second grade Mindy won a competition for her drawing depicting the town of Van in her eyes.  In the third grade she continued drawing and made a poster of Beauty and the Beast.  In addition, she also played soccer, basketball, and participated in biking tours.  Starting in junior high, Mindy continued to grow in her skills by taking art, drama, advanced math, and tennis courses.  She then competed in math competitions and technology student association competitions in high school.  In a state competition for TSA she finished first and best in class for house plans limited to 2000 square feet.  Along with this, she continued with art classes and graduated in 2001 as 8th in her class of over 130 students.  In addition, she also played on the Van High School Varsity Tennis Team and was ranked 1st in the Championship Division of the State of Texas for the United States Tennis Association.  At entering college Mindy decided to pursue Architecture and Engineering.  After receiving her Associate Degree in Engineering from Tyler Junior College in 2003 and graduating with a grade point average of 3.64, she searched for a university which had a dual degree program for Architecture and Engineering.  She decided on Texas Tech University and after attending for five years she graduated with two Bachelor of Science Degrees; one in Architecture and the second in Civil Engineering with an overall grade point average of 3.46.  Recently she obtained her Engineer-In-Training Certificate and is currently seeking her first career position.
